Snapstars was a fun photo sticker kiosk with an accompanying website where you could have your photo taken, choose a frame, print out stickers and share the photos with friends using the snapstars.tv website. Kiosks were placed in Miss Selfridge and Tammy stores (among others) across the country. The project used Macromedia Director, dynamic masking on the fly from live video feed (for applying the fun frames), text to voice (for the animated characters). All kiosks were online enabled, so images could be uploaded to the website and retrieved by users with a coded receipt. The telemetry system also allowed kiosks to alert an engineer in the event of paper jam, ink low, coin-op malfunction etc etc. The Boot Room also designed the kiosk itself along with the branding.
